EXPLORE THE COLLECTION STORY
Red and yellow and pink and green – our Brand Stylist, Maddy Moxham, is all about colour. Echoing the fashion psychologist, Dawnn Karen's theory that what you wear can affect how you feel, Maddy's an advocate of the mood-boosting benefits of wearing uplifting shades. Here, she shares her favourite summer palettes and how to wear them.
When you wear these shades together, you can't help but conjure pictures of golden sunflower fields and sparkling azure seas. For me, bright yellow and cobalt blue really epitomise summer. To heighten the feel-good factor, incorporate bold graphic prints, playful gingham and easy blazers that will turn home-time into a staycation.
This is such a joyful palette, it's impossible not to feel uplifted by it. If you're wary of wearing full-on colour, start small by introducing shoes or accessories in a statement shade. Alternatively, take a tonal approach and mix variations of the same colour together. It makes such an impact and exudes authority. Even if the tones don't match exactly, this will just add depth to the outfit.
There's something incredibly calming and satisfying about styling muted shades together – think camel, oatmeal and sand. You can also easily pair them with black and ivory, or if you want to give them a lift, throw in some flame red. For a nod to this season's 70s trend, look for belted waist details, micro prints and neck ties.
With more time at home, it's the perfect opportunity to reorganise your wardrobe. Our Brand Stylist shares her step-by-step guide.
